Mental Health Awareness Week
18-24 May 2020

Mental Health issues can affect anyone at any time and during these unprecedented times it is believed that more people than ever will suffer will mental health problems of some sort.  Our mental health is just as important as our physical health so it is important to take care of it.  By taking some basic simple steps such as taking regular exercise, making sure we get fresh air on a daily basis, if we are able to do so.  Staying in touch with loved ones and friends and keeping ourselves occupied with things that we enjoy doing such as crosswords, baking, sewing or taking up new hobbies are all good ways of looking after our mental wellbeing.

Kindness is the theme for this year and it has been shown time and time again how people have been coming together to look after one another.  Simple acts of kindness can reduce anxiety and stress for everyone.  Not only do the recipients of kindness benefit greatly but those helping others benefit greatly from knowing they have made a difference improving their own emotional wellbeing.  It's a win/win situation!
Due to these unprecedented times we find ourselves in, I will be applying further discounts for NHS staff and Key workers.  Please don't hesitate to ask for further details without obligation.

Keep well and stay safe.
Mental Health
It wasn't that long ago when admitting you had a mental health issue or suffered with stress or anxiety was frowned upon.  It showed weakness (or so we thought) and could blight your career prospects and you somehow felt you were not like everyone else, not strong enough to cope with day to day life.  Thankfully, nowadays it is much easier to open up and discuss mental health issues, in fact, it is encouraged! Men too are opening up about their mental health issues, and certainly men in the public eye are coming forward to discuss their mental health issues openly.  Undeniably it can still be a terrifying experience but there is no doubt that a great sense of relief can be had by opening up, like a weight has been lifted.
